2. you could spend hours/days/weeks researching how to record your own – including buying the right microphone and figuring out all those weird numbers (SPOT QUIZ: do you know how to get your recording between -23db and -18db RMS w -3db peak and max -60db noise floor? No? Oh right, umm….)
3. you could hire me to voice your audiobook. I’d deliver all the mp3 files fit to throw onto Findaway straight away. You know about Findaway Voices, right?
4. you could hire my studio and record it using your own voice, with my guidance and technical know how.

Susan Holt

I should introduce myself: I’m Susan Holt. I’m a Kiwi author and actress. Yes, an actress! I’ve done all the training (including voice and accents and… acting!) I’ve voiced seven audiobooks so far, plus I’ve starred in radio plays, TV films (Aftershock, 2008) and feature films (Births, Deaths & Marriages, 2019), as well as devising a stage play (Flippin’ Norah), and appearing in local musical theatre. Cor Blimey!

What accents can I do? Well, I’ve already done ‘posh’ English, Cockney, Scottish, Welsh, Afrikaans, Australian, regular US, and.. well… I have a good ear, so ask and see if I could do that one you thought you could hear in your head while you were writing (yes, I know what that’s like).

Plus… I’ve written and published two of my own books – so I know what you’re all about!

There aren’t that many Kiwi voices out there in audiobook-land. How about we change that, eh?
